“Yin is amazing!  The ultimate chance to be mindful and listen to our bodies.  Challenging yet relaxing and for ALL bodies!”  -Jeannine Olson Wilson, Yin Yoga Practitioner

“I just love the practice of yin yoga and I continually encourage people to give it a try…more than once.”  -Argie Ford, Yin Yoga Practitioner

Oftentimes, stress manifests itself in the physical body, resulting is chronic pain, discomfort, and/or dis-ease.

The meditative practice of Yin Yoga targets the fascia, which are bands of connective tissue that stabilizes the skeletal system.  Yin Yoga Asanas (postures) differ from those in other yoga practices, because these specific postures are held for several minutes and felt in the deep tissue.

In a typical Vinyasa session, the practitioner strives to hold sequential postures for a few breaths, however, in a Yin Yoga session, the practitioner  surrenders the body into each posture for a significant period of time (2-6 minutes).  The yielding time will be gauged by the discretion of the practitioner.  Therefore, Yin Yoga is a reflective, slow, sensory experience that emphasizes self-awareness.   Adriana encourages a yin yoga practice, in order to bring balance in life.

“The most important point to remember about Yin Yoga is that it is personal…it is unique to each individual and the asanas can be modified to accommodate each person’s range of motion, injury history, and physical ability.”
